Rule #1: Scenery

Capture both the land and the sea. This frames the photo and allows the viewer to appreciate the greatness of nature. Find the spot close to the waterfront to take that will allow you to follow along the shoreline, or find a distance so you will capture land and sea when directing the camera to the water.

Rule #2: Find the contrast

Imagine that there is a clear line dividing the water and the beach. Point the camera to the middle and tap the photo button!

Rule #3: Item of interest

When taking pictures that contain objects, focus on items of interest. This could be man-made objects or natural features, that will capture the attention.

Rule #4: Lucky shot

Sometimes, the best pictures are taken with little or no preparation. Just point the camera and hope for the best (and do not forget to have ample storage).
